In an attempt to cut back on liquor smuggling, Carnival Cruise Lines will no longer allow passengers to bring bottled water onboard. Passengers now will be limited to one 12-pack of non-alcoholic beverages in either cans or cartons.
Officially, the new policy has been introduced to speed up your boarding time. Before the ban, cruise-line personnel were required to inspect each bottle to make sure it was unopened. The inspection process sometimes contributed to longer embarking times.
Carnival prohibits passengers from bringing liquor and beer onboard. Each passenger may bring one bottle of wine (750 ml), which is subject to a $10 corkage fee.
For every cruise line, bottles purchased in port or in the ship’s duty-free shop are stored on the ship until passengers disembark. Here’s a quick check of other carryon rules for the cruise lines out of Port Everglades:
Royal Caribbean International
“Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines or non-alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use on boarding day or while in port. Alcoholic beverages seized on boarding day will not be returned.”
You can bring onboard two bottles of wine per person (750 ml each). Corkage Fee: $25/bottle.
Princess Cruise Lines
“Guests agree not to bring alcoholic beverages of any kind onboard for consumption, except one bottle of wine or champagne per adult of drinking age (no larger than 750 ml) per voyage, which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom. Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a $15 corkage fee each, irrespective of where they are intended to be consumed.”
No limit to the amount of non-alcoholic beverages you can carry onboard.
Celebrity Cruise Lines
“Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other
use…Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol.”No limit to the amount of non-alcoholic beverages you can carry onboard.

“Please note that with the exception of Wine and Champagne, all guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol on board our ships.”

Liquor and beer are not allowed to be carried onboard. No limit to the amount of non-alcoholic beverages you can carry onboard.
You can bring onboard one bottle of wine per person (750 ml) for no fee, and an unlimited amount of wine that is subject to fees. Corkage Fee: $20/bottle.
