Most of the five major Port Everglades cruise lines offer free mobile apps for cruisers. If you’re sailing on Celebrity CruisesCarnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean International or Holland America, remember to download your free cruise-line app before you board.
Another way to go: Cruise Ship Mate from Cruiseline.com. The free app includes information on all the major cruise lines, including itineraries, deck plans, excursion tips and chat capabilities. It’s the #1 cruise app.
Check out these details on cruise-line mobile phone apps from:
Celebrity. Hands down the best set of mobile offerings from cruise lines, the set includes apps for learning cruise lingo, book your next cruise or play online casino games. The line also provides tutorials on various cruise destinations, such as Alaska, Europe and Asia.
Princess. This line sends you a link to grab their mobile app, Princess Sea, in your boarding packet. They’re introducing a message app, Princess Sea Messenger, onboard the Regal Princess that lets cruisers communicate with other people aboard ship.
Carnival. The line is beta-testing an app called FunPhone, which allows you to communicate with other people aboard your ship. Right now, the app is available only on Carnival Breeze out of PortMiami. Otherwise, the Ship Mate app for Carnival is your best bet.
