Six Outdoor Amphitheaters Near Fort Lauderdale

With its beautiful sunny weather, it makes sense that south Florida features plenty of outdoor amphitheaters. There are at least six awesome outdoor amphitheaters within an hour’s drive of Fort Lauderdale, including:

Cruzan Amphitheater

The largest amphitheater in the region, this open-air music venue seats 19,000, including lawn seats. About 6,400 permanent seats are under cover. Lately the venue has been focusing on country-music acts, but the theater’s schedule runs the gamut from rock-n-roll to jazz to pop. Great place to go if you want to see a major musical act.

Meyer Amphitheater

Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway in downtown West Palm Beach, this amphitheater is used mainly for special occasions such as July 4th and Irish Fest.  Patrons can relax on the park’s lush grass, or grab a picnic table. The park also hosts a family concert event on the third Sunday evening of each month.

Hollywood Arts Park

Located at Young Circle in the middle of downtown Hollywood, this eight-year-old amphitheater provides lawn seating for 2,500 people. The Arts Park also features a playground, a water sculpture, and an exhibition gallery. In general, the park offers food trucks on Monday, movies on Friday and concerts on Saturday.

Mizner Park Amphitheater

Based in an upscale shopping mall in Boca Raton, this city-owned amphitheater seats 4,200 people. Programming at the amphitheater includes a mix of community events, city events and commercial concerts. Patrons also can choose to sit on the grassy median outside the venue and listen to the music for free.

Klipsch Amphitheater

Part of the downtown Miami Bayfront Park, this amphitheater is the home of major concerts, festivals and events. The 7,500-seat theater affords attendees dramatic views of beautiful Biscayne Bay. Bayside Marketplace, an outdoor mall on the water that features shopping, dining and entertainment, is next to the theater.
