Sawgrass Mills Mall, a 15-minute ride from Rodeway Inn & Suites, is the mecca of outlet mall shopping. The largest single-story mall in the country, Sawgrass Mills has more than 350 retail outlets, nearly 40 on-site restaurants and more than 20 movie theaters. There are 12,000 parking spaces at the mall, including a two-story parking garage.
The mall features three specialty districts, four main shopping avenues and a few entertainment options. The specialty districts include a section of exclusive outlet stores, an open-air mall section and a special fashion district. Sawgrass Mills also features 23 movie screens, a billiard hall and a pair of food courts.
The mall is laid out in the shape of an alligator, with seven color-coded regions. The three specialty districts are identified on the mall map by the colors:
Red – This featured section of the mall, called Colonnade Outlets, boasts more than 40 exclusive outlets not found anywhere else in south Florida. Exclusive stores in the district include Burberry Factory Outlet, David Yurman, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and Tory Burch. District eateries include PF Chang’s, Ristorante Villagio, Grand Lux Café and Ben & Jerry’s.
Purple – Named The Oasis, this open-air section of the mall features sit-down restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen and Johnny Rockets. Also includes Regal 23 Cinema, which offers 23 screens of first-run movies. Around 15 clothing shops in The Oasis district, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Reebok, Ron Jon Surf Shop and Old Navy.
Pink – Denotes Fashion Row, right next to the Colonnade, which features 16 brand-name clothing stores in one stretch of mall. Anchored by women’s retailer Forever 21, the shopping district includes small outlet stores for Columbia Sportswear, Steve Madden, Calvin Klein & DKNY.
While the four avenue districts are colored:
Orange – Sprawling across the center of the complex, it’s the largest section of the mall. Anchor stores Bloomingdale’s and Burlington Coat Factory are at either end, with Nike in the middle. More than 50 shops, including Lego, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret & Banana Republic.
Green – Located at the head of the gator, this district features super-sized versions of Super Target and BrandsMart USA. Also includes retailers FYE, Urban Planet, Quicksilver and Izod. Garden Food Court offers 15 dining choices, including Tony Roma’s, Subway and Popeye’s.
Blue –Anchored by TJ Maxx and Bed Bath & Beyond, this shopping district can be found in the gator’s belly. It contains nearly 40 stores, many of which are clothing related, including Levis, Hurley and Aeropostale. Snack shops Cinnabon and Sushigami also are close by.
Yellow – At the tail of the gator, you’ll find anchor stores Marshall’s, Sports Authority and VF Outlet. The section includes children’s stores Gamestop and Disney Store, as well as shoe stores Foot Locker, Athletic Footwear and Crocs. Includes a food court with a Rainforest Café.
The Billiard Club at The Oasis is a large upscale pool hall with a full bar and more than 2O pool tables. It’s a great place to have a good time with friends, food and pool. GameWorks, located in the Blue section, features arcade games for kids and adults. The arcade also includes a bar.
